Wildflower and Tree Identification SAT 22nd June

Learn and Explore on a guided Native Woodland Trust Blessington nature reserve visit.

Saturday 22nd June, 14:00: Wildflower and Tree Identification Day at Blessington Nature Reserve

 

Ever wondered what the name of that pretty woodland flower was or what type of tree that is at the end of the garden? Well why not come along to a fun tree and wildflower id and discovery day at the Native Woodland Trust Blessington Nature Reserve on Saturday 22nd June at 14:00. This event is open to all, adults and children alike and will be a relaxed and informative walk around the reserve stopping to learn about a selection of native trees and wildflowers while enjoying the picturesque scenery.

The Native Woodland Trust Blessington Nature Reserve is situated on the shores of Poulaphouca Reservoir five minutes from Blessington and Ballymore Eustace. The reserve has beautiful views of the lake and mountains and is home to a great variety of native Irish trees and woodland wildflowers. The Native Woodland Trust is an environmental charity dedicated to the protection of Ireland’s rare native and ancient woodland. The Trust achieves this by setting up woodland reserves around the country such as the nature reserve at Blessington. This reserves network allows the Trust to protect existing woodland as well as plant new native woodland for the future.

This event will be a fun and relaxed day perfect anyone with an interested in learning more about Ireland’s woodland. No previous identification skills are needed. This event is open to all. NWT members come free with a suggested donation of €4 for non-members. The meeting point for the walk is at the ESB car park off the N81 just before the turn off for Ballymore Eustace.
